In the morning, the alarm clock rings to wake you up for school.

Present simple versus Present continuous.

Always, often, usually, sometimes, never , are adverbs of frequency and we use them in the Present simple tense.

Today, tonight, now, at the moment, are used in the Present continuous tense.

I always go home by bus but today I am walking home with my friend.
