Today´s special occasion is the celebration of San Isidro at school.
Sunday´s special occasion is the San Isidro festival.
Monday´s special occasion is that we have a day off of school.

What is San Isidro?
A: San Isidro is the patron saint of Madrid. This is part of the cultural patrimony of Madrid. According to the legend, San Isidro was a ploughman who granted miracles. One of San Isidro´s miracles is that he was praying and his boss was checking up on his work. Some angels came and ploughed the soil for San Isidro. Another miracle was that the child of San Isidro was playing, he fell into a well and people thought the child didn´t survive. Suddenly, the well water rose and the child was saved. This well can be seen in the Museum of San Isidro in La Latina- Pl. de San Andrés, 2, 28005 Madrid.
When is San Isidro celebrated?
A: It is celebrated on the 15th of May every year.
What is the traditional food to eat?
People eat rosquillas and barquillos, and drink limonade.
What type of traditional things do people do?
People dance "chotis" , go picnicking to "La Pradera de San isidro", wear the traditional "chulapo/a" outfit, play traditional games or play the "organillo".
